Basic and Pascal on Ubuntu

Asked by swift240

Hi all,
As I am new to Linux/Ubuntu 7.10 I am wandering as I am also an Amiga user.
I like to use AmosPro and Hi-Soft Basic, and on the PC I used to use QBasic in DOS.
And also on the Amiga I like to work with Pascal.
Is there any such programs that I can use on Ubuntu?

As I have now permanently got rid of XP but still use my Amiga I really would like to use some kind of Basic and Pascal on Ubuntu.

TIA,

Mike.

Hi,

There are many packages for different programming languages in the Ubuntu repositories. You can install these through the Synaptic Package Manager by going to System -> Administration -> Synaptic Package Manager.

From there, you can search for "BASIC" or "Pascal", or browse through the categories. Some packages you may want to consider are "bwbasic", "yabasic" and "gpc".

Good luck!

Chris
