Mouse problem

Asked by Andrew Marshall

I am using Gutsy and have suddenly developed a mouse problem.
I use a notebook that rarely actually leaves my study these days. The mouse worked fine until a few days ago, when I went mobile, without the mouse.
When I boot-up the mouse does not work, until I remove and then replace it in the USB slot. I thought it might be a loose connection but it does the same thing in all 3 of my USB slots and I have no problems with other USB items. I thought about reinstalling the drivers but I don't have the disc any longer. I went on to the company website and downloaded the drivers - this being the resulting output - Could not open "3DMouse2Erar-1.rar".

Windows drivers are useless on ubuntu. It might be a problem with your mouse. Try a different mouse to see if it works.

Try to activate "Legacy USB support" or something like that in BIOS setup....it's about USB support at boot time.

For some strange reason the mouse seems to be working alright now, but am thinking it might go awry in the future.
