ubuntu installation

Asked by Michael Lindell

I own a Dell Latitude D400 laptop with a Intel Pentium M 1.4 CPU, 512 RAM, Win XP SP2. I would like to install Ubuntu over or with XP. My problem is my laptop has no CD rom also I don't have access to an external CD rom. Is there a way to install it from an .iso file with XP running? I'm new to Linux and am tired of Windows and MS crapola I really want to make this work and give it a chance. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,

this may relate to what you are looking for, you may have to modify some of the refrerences to the newer version of Ubuntu.

Can you help with this problem?
