Printer problem!

Asked by alf889

I have been using Ubuntu 6.1 for about 2 years now. since than I grow to love it but until now I still can be able to get my printer to work. I have Brother MFC-240C and HP LaserJet 1020. I have read many faq and try to do what ever they said in there. but I still can get them to print! I wish some one out there can help to solve these problems. if you could tell me step by step. Thank you!

The following printer models: Minolta magicolor 2200/2300/2430 DL, HP LaserJet 1018/1020/1022, are supported in Linux thanks to the driver foo2zjs, but the version of this driver that comes with Ubuntu (any version) is very old and it does not work correctly (as in SUSE, Mandriva, Debian, Gentoo and RedHat), therefore we should install the latest version of the driver foo2zjs: http://www.guia-ubuntu.org/index.php?title=Foo2zjs
