abiword and the add/remove software program randomly stopped working

yeah umm ive been using this ubuntu for a while and i haven't had any problems with either of them but one day the just stopped working. everything else works fine but i cant get those two to even open. ive tried everything i could think of and i could really use some help

run abiword from a console and post the error message.
