Strange color pattern at login, and then freezes

Asked by chrisedd

After installing my system runs great. When I shutdown or restart, I get a strange pattern of vertical bars. If I boot from the UBUNTU CD and choose "Boot from Hard Drive" it boots to my desktop just fine, no problems at all. I've tried reinstalling using copies of UBUNTU from different regions, but this did not help.

I don't think the source CD are missing files or corrupted

Thanks

I had a similar problem, but I when I disconect the my Nvidia it runs just perfect, so, the problem cuold be that you have an incompatible hardware.
