What do you mean by 'uninstalling ubuntu' ? Remove it completely from your computer?

Can you give us more info?

Have you made partitions? Is ubuntu coexisting with another operative system (like another linux distro or maybe windows) ?
You have only Ubuntu and you want to install another OS over it?

Yes I want it completely removed, And I have made A partition, and I have another OS (Windows ME). I just want it removed cause I'm Gonna put Kubuntu on it in about 6 weeks from now.

Okay, but there are still two options:

1) You want to remove the partition, and you want to make the free space avaliable to windows.
In that case, you need a live cd with gparted on it, to remove the ubuntu partitons and resize the windows filesystem to fill the disk. I think the ubuntu livecd has gparted (under System -> Administration -> Disk Editor, something like that). If not you can always download gparted live cd on the web.

But since grub is now your partition loader, if you remove the partition you have to reinstalll windows boot loader, or you won't be able to boot.
You will probably need the windows CD, look up on your windows documentation on how to restore boot record.

2) You want to keep the partition so you can install Kubuntu on it later.
In that case you don't need to use the windows CD, just change the "default" option in /boot/grub/menu.lst to match the number of the Windows option in the grub menu, so windows will be started by default when you turn on the computer, and forget about it.
When it is time to install kubuntu the partition will be already there and grub will still work after the installation.

Can you help with this problem?
