partition hard drive

Asked by robfro

I have a 320Gb hard drive with a 150 Gb's on it running widows xp sp2
When I run the installer and get to the prepare disk space I get three options.
Guided resize SCS15 (0,0,0), partition #2 (sda) and use free space, it has a slider and it is set to 48% (133.4Gb)
Guided use entire disk I know I don't want this one!
Manual

Question - why can't I set the slider for anything less than the 48%. I only want to use 25 Gb's

befor you start, keep your xp disk handy, you can do a repair of the mbr if you mess things up?
now if the slider will let you adjust to the partition you want go for it
why don't you want to use the 133 gigs?
installing it manually is for experience user[i don't recommend this] but you can read about it in the ubuntu help files

Can you help with this problem?
