How can I create a "Screens and Graphics" entry for my TV/Monitor?

Asked by Jem

The "Screens and Graphics" utility allows the administrator to customise the display to their specific monitor/TV. The selection of display device is grouped by manufacturer, and then by model.

I have a TV that I would like to use as a monitor, but it is not listed. (It is a Sony Bravia KDL-32V2000).

I have to hand all of the specifications required, including resolution, Horz and Vert frequencies.

Can I create a configuration item in "Screens and Graphics" specifically for this TV?

If successful, can I commit this configuration so that others may use it too?

I'm not sure I follow your question, Sebastian Heinlein leads this project and may be able to afford you more help. If you are reffering to dual head mode then I am aware there is a problem at present relating to the current drivers that prevent it being configured, which I know Sebastian is working on:

Thanks for the link. I have found an answer to my first question "How do I add a monitor" - https://answers.launchpad.net/displayconfig-gtk/+question/14447

My second question is, when I obtain the .inf file for my monitor, how can I contribute it back to the project? I will re-ask this question in the correct project.
