vt 6421 ata controller fails with ubuntu 7.10

Asked by Aaron Grumney

my system worked with ubuntu 7.04
after upgrading to 7.10 it no longer would boot up
discovered that it does not properly see my vt 6421 ata controller card after the upgrade
this card is a fakeraid it uses software and not hardware
bottomline I need a driver that works with ubuntu 7.10 to make it work

This is why Microsoft rules
They own the vendors and linux belongs to a bunch of stuck up geeks that want to have a OS just for them
I tried ubuntu but it does not work and futhermore why would I update it only to have something else not work
without the drivers the Os is junk

Hey I think that ubuntu kubuntu edubuntu linux could be great but
the people that invest there time in this project only want this OS to work for them
Why not go after MS
there is many things that ubuntu does not work with which makes this OS unusable
My original question about my vt 6421 ata controller card not working with ubuntu 7.10
but why did it work with 7.04
the live cd v7.10 also crashes
