which program to use for downloading films from youtube?

has someone found a good program or whatever to be used for downloading films from youtube with Ubuntu? (at the moment I have feisty fawn)

I'd recommend miro - http://www.getmiro.com/ - I believe it's included in gutsy, but for Feisty you may have to do a manual install (there are instructions on their site)

If you are thinking about something simple, you can use youtube-dl at the command line and use Totem with gstreamer0-10-plugins-ffmpeg and gstreamer0-10-plugins-[bad|ugly] both the universe and multiverse versions. That'll piece up together all the necessary codecs to watch flash video files.
