Where do I find the Command for an aplet to add to launcher?

I'm new to Ubuntu. What folder do I need to Browse so that I can add an applet to the launcher (What needs to go in the Command Box?) I'd appreciate some help. I guess Ubuntu takes awhile to get the hanf of! lol.......................Tim

To create an application launcher, right click on the desktop and select "create launcher". You will have to type the path to the application into the "Command" blank. You can click on the icon and select one to suit from another source.
