Missing FLAC folder for some audio CDs en Kubuntu Gusty

Asked by ApuX

If an audio CD is mounted in Kubuntu Feisty, it shows some Folders (mp3, ogg, flac, etc).
If the same CD is mounted in Kubuntu Gusty, it show only some folders (usually, doesn't show the flac and mp3 folder).
Why?
Do I need to install some extra packages?

For mp3 you probably need lame and/or kubuntu-restricted-extras, is this a problem with all cd's?

I think it may be a bug in Gusty for flac though.

I have kubuntu-restricted-extras installed, indeed, in previous version (Feisty, Edgy) it works 'out of the box', I can do it even in the live cd.
It's a problem with all tested cd's. I was not sure at the moment of post the question, therefore I wrote 'some CDs'.

By the way, in Feisty its possible to copy the ogg and flac files, but not the mp3, although libxine-extracodecs installed.

Do you have lame installed? I believe this is what kde uses for the audiocd mp3 encoding.

Nope. I thought I had it because I can use K3B to convert audio CD's to MP3, but it doesn't use lame.
I installed lame and now it works.
In feisty I can copy the MP3 files (before, the MP3 files are shown but it was not possible to copy them).
In gusty the MP3 folder is now shown and it's possible to copy the files too.
That make me think I need a extra package for FLAC.

This is what I had presumed, but I have not worked out what package is required yet.

I have the same problem, but only with the flac folder, this one is missing when I open an audio cd with Kubuntu 7.10. Pete was right about installing 'lame', but installing 'flac' does not work!

Installed packages are:
kubuntu-restricted-extras
flac
libflac++6
libflac8

Should be enough to encode a flac file, but no flac folder....

Can you help with this problem?
