easy program launch

Asked by mogens busk

Hi

I would like to know if there is an easy way to activate the individual program menus.

Detailed description:

win + a, to access application the presse letter and enter to chose the right application to launch
win + i, to access internet application, press f for firefox enter and voila firefox starts
win + h, to access homefolder

and so on

I know that alt + f1 gives access to the menu panel, but i like to go direkt to, example internet apps.

If there is a commandline way would be fine, then it would be posible to setup a metacity shortcut.

If you use GNOME, go on System→Preferences→Keyboard Shortcuts. If you cannot find the menu entry, press alt+f2 and type gnome-keybinding-properties.

Yes I know that, but this only gives you access to the main menu, is there a way to launch the sub menus directly?

By the way the default key is alt+f1

I like to bin a key directly to fx. internet programs. (win+i)
and to be able to make hotkeys to the other submenus.

You can try to configure the X server.

Can you help with this problem?
