Upgrading to 7.10 from 7.04 dualboot with XP

I currently am dualbooting ubuntu 7.04 and windows xp. I wanted to upgrade to 7.10 through update manager. Will this affect my Xp operating system in anyway? Will the upgrade just install on the partition I made for 7.04 or will it take up the whole hard drive and delete everything? Thanks!

Hi megamegh,

Follow the upgrade guide on the following site:
 https://help.ubuntu.com/community/GutsyUpgrades

It will not effect your XP partition, but instead upgrade your existing feisty (7.04) installation, so it will effect Feisty and this will no longer be present - but replaced with Gutsy.
