unable to install kubuntu 7.10

The installer is unable to go ahead with the process after the step 3of6. Everything goes on fine till I select the keyboard layout. Then a progress window pops up saying "Initializing disks" after that the installation never goes ahead. My box already has ext3 and swap partitions.
please help me to go ahead.

Did you try the alternate CD? That's always worth a try, usually it's easier than to try to solve the problem with the Live CD installer.

Another hint: most failed installs are due to bad media. Make sure the MD5SUMs of the downloaded ISO are correct, and run the "Check CD for defects" option in the Live CD's initial menu.

Hi,
I succeeded in installing Ubuntu on to my box but not Kubuntu.
Although I did check for the corectness of the cd and md5 sums kubuntu didn't install. however Im going to install KDE from Ubuntu. anyway thanks a lot for the information.
