cursor theme

i want to add a cursor them. i know i can use gcursor, but i'd like to add it my self. i've done it before, i just don't remember how.

It looks like you have come up with an answer (Question 15707). However, keep in mind there are some cursor themes in the repositorys, (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=449987) There's a bunch in repos already, just apt-cache search cursor | less, and sudo apt-get install what you want.
