turn off automatic special characters ś é etcetera

Asked by Wim Feijen

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could help me with a small problem I am facing. I googled a lot but wasn't able to find anything about it.

I'm typing a lot of apostrophs, and Ubuntu changes 'm in ḿ and 's in ś. I know I can type a space to prevent this from happening, but I do not want to type a space each time.

I would like to turn of the automatic compisition, because I really like using the Windows key to generate special characters.

How do I change the behaviour of Ubuntu and how do I turn of the automatic composition of special characters?

Many thanks for all your help!

Wim
