Hibernation not working in 11.04

Asked by ODEON

I've just installed Ubuntu 11.04 on my HP Pavilion Elite desktop. Everything works fine apart from Hibernate.

The desktop will go into hibernate without any problems at all, but when I switch the netbook back on Ubuntu loads up with distorted multi coloured graphics and then freezes.

I am having a similar problem on an HP Pavillion DV9610. GeForce 7150M /nForce 630M

The only difference is the screen goes white.

In additional drivers the recommended nVidia driver is activated but it is indicated it is not being used. There seems to be no way to use it. Re-activating it indicates a reboot to use, but it still indicates it is not being used.

This occurs with Unity and Gnome
