How to keep middle scroll wheel from switching workspaces?

Asked by Stephen Gornick

I like Compiz, but there is one feature that is driving me nuts. I would rather not have the middle scroll wheel switch workspaces on me. I too often go to grab the mouse and hit the scroll wheel a little, and my workspace changes on me.

I do most of my workspace changes using the CTRL-ALT- [right/left/up/down] so really don't think I will miss not being able to use the mouse to switch workspaces.

Is this function of what happends when the middle-mouse-button scrolls a setting that can be changed or disabled?

Disable the "Viewport Switcher" plugin under CompizConfig Settings Manager (CCSM).

That plugin is responsible for using your mouse wheel up/down feature to switch viewports and will not disable the CTRL+ALT+Direction features since they fall under a different plugin called "Rotate Cube".
