Grub Bios failed at boot on a dell inspiron 1300

Asked by botbotdingzip

It post boot ok with but then I got this wierd output from grub and had to do a forced restart. Never made it to the boot menu. I'm running dual boot XP/Ubuntu. This happens on a clean install of Kubuntu Fiesty. It works ok now and seems to happen randomly. The lappy is new.

The output:

....Starting up
[18.038007]....MP-BIOS bug:8254 timer not connected to IO-APIC
[18.217415] Kernel panic - not syncing : IO - APIC timer doesn't work
[18.217610]_

Then it said I should report this error, so I did :)

This should go in the Bugs section of Launchpad.

Hope you find a patch or something
