No Software Sources dialog in my Adept Manager - how to enable "recommended updates"?

Asked by Eelik

http://www.kubuntu.org/~jriddell/kubuntu-upgrade/snapshot2.png shows a dialog "Software Sources". I get only an editable list of the sources in text form when I select "Manage Repositories". Why? How do I enable "recommended updates" to get Full Upgrade (to upgrade from 7.04 to 7.10)? Is that "recommended updates" only one source line or what?

In gnome there's a separate menu item for that software sources panel (system-->administration) maybe there's one somewhere in kde's menus two. If not try typing in terminal "sudo software-properties-gtk", that should give the same panel.

Sorry, wrong "sudo software-properties-kde" of course. :)

I still don't know the answer, but I installed the gtk(/gnome?) update manager and it worked. There clearly is need for a bullet-proof full upgrade system for KDE/Kubuntu.

I was in the same situation, and the solution is to install the package software-properties-kde (which for some reason was not present on my system). This activates the dialog.

Can you help with this problem?
