What file do I need to burn to CD in order to boot with Ubuntu from CD?

My motherboard may be bad and it does not recognize the hard drive IDE channel on my old thinkpad laptop. What file do I need to burn to CD in order to boot with Ubuntu from CD?

You can run the system from the live cd, but that's probably not what you want. If you can install it, maybe you can use the cd to "boot from first hard disk".
