Suspend and Hibernate not working in 7.10

Asked by ray.voelker

When I enter into Hibernation in Ubuntu 7.10 my laptop screen goes black, and the laptop hangs at that screen until I hold the power button to completely shut down the computer. My laptop is a Gateway 285-E with the Radeon Mobility X1400 graphics card. It is currently using the ATI accelerated graphics driver and the Intel PRO/Wireless 3945 Network connection driver in the restricted drivers section.

the kernel info is here ...
Linux ray-laptop 2.6.22-14-generic #1 SMP Sun Oct 14 23:05:12 GMT 2007 i686 GNU/Linux

I had previously posted a reply to this thread, and have included the dmesg as well as the lspci information in that post here ....

Could you please mark this closed, the bug you linked to has been triaged, meaning the fix is in progress, when its released suspend/hibernate will work on your laptop. If for some reason it doesn't, then you should report a BUG not a QUESTION.
Thanks,
David P.
