How Can I lower the Brightness of the screen on my sony vaio laptop vgn-fe770g so i can save battery power or if theres a tool to do that for ubuntu

I was trying to figure out a way so I can use the hot keys on my Sony Vaio VGN-FE770G but since I am not running windows anymore I need to find away to lower the brightness of my LCD screen and a battery save mode for laptops ??
