Resolution-Ubuntu 10.04 LTS 64 bit Server Edition

Asked by Daire Conley

How shall I change the resolution in Ubuntu 10.04 LTS 64 bit server edition? I am considering purchasing a smaller monitor or a system selector for the server; however, in the meant time I prefer to change the resolution, because currently I'm using a 1080p monitor and the text size is not optimal for viewing. I prefer to bring the resolution down a notch or so to cause the text to be larger. How do I accomplish this?

How is that answering the question? Isn't that for desktop versions? I'm asking about the server screen. I'm running server on a a machine without a GUI. Its the server edition Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Server Edition. Another option is to remote into the server; however, I've yet to set that up.

It's the same, it will make the screen text size a lot smaller for your server

Can you help with this problem?
