Booting Windows XP or SUSE Linux or Kubuntu

Asked by A D Grainger

On my PC, I have Windows XP installed on my first hard drive and SUSE Linux 10.1 installed on my second hard drive. The second hard drive has 50 GB of free space and I would like to install Kubuntu there.

1) Is it possible to have the three Operating Systems (Windows XP, SUSE Linux and Kubuntu) on my PC?

2) Will the last installation of the GRUB boot loader (that will be done by Kubuntu) show Windows XP, SUSE Linux and Kubuntu?

1) You can have multiple operating systems installed at the same time . GRUB and LiLo manage them with ease. So you should have no problems with the installation of Kubuntu.

2) GRUB tries to identify each operating system that is currently installed on the system. If you plan to reinstall Windows, you will have to manually reload GRUB in order to see SuSE and Kubuntu again. Very egoistic, isn't it? :)

Can you help with this problem?
