how to reset the panel in Ubuntu 10.10

I dont know how but somehow my NetworkManager Applet has deleted. How to set it to defaults ? I have tried with the following,which is working but the NetworkManager Applet is not showing. any idea ?

gconftool --recursive-unset /apps/panel && killall gnome-panel

You can't actually delete the applet itself, only the area where it appears, which is called notification area.
Please right click on empty space of panel -> add to panel -> search the list for: notification area.

Also verify that 'network manager' is enabled in
system preferences -> startup applications

Press ALT+F2 and run:

nm-applet

Should appear ok
