hIGH MEMORYUSAGE

Pl help us, as System Monitor doesn't show high memory usage in processes but memory used is being shown as 96% and swap memory used is about 76% out of 1024 MB Swap memory and 768 MB of RAM.
Using Maverick ubuntu 10.10 this problem has occurred for the past 4-5 days.

Which applications are usually running on your system?

No processes found in system manager which is drawing high memory please.

R-installing the ubuntu cleared this problem
