when upgradeing to gutsy gibbon....???

right now i'm runing fiesty fawn. when i upgrade to gutsy gibbon, i would like to keep my desktop, settings and theme. how can i do this? can i save them on cd then apply everything to gutsy, or is there another way to do this? i actually would like to do a clean install.

Save your Home Directory to any Media of your choice. You can find your Home Directory in /home/your-user-name
The best thing would be to pack that folder.

But keep in mind that this way your software installed so far will not be saved just the settings.
