usb does not work

Hi, i just installed ubuntu 10.10 in an AMILO L7310 and have detected that my usb ports are not working. I have found a similar question in launchpad (https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/2363) but after trying the purposed solution i did not get such got a solution to my problem. However i found that putting the "noacpi" option in the kernel corrects the problem i have with the usb ports but leaves me without networking.
