No Sound

I don't really know a whole lot about this, so I am just going to ask. I recently installed Ubuntu 7.04 on a six-month old Dell originally pre-installed with WindowsXP. I can't get any sound out of the speakers. Checked volume control, etc., but like I said, I don't know anything about sound hardware. I found some support pages to find some system information for anyone who can answer this. See below
