help installing

i am the lab assistant at my school and today i helped install edubuntu on a school computer today, my computer teacher told me to take the disc home and partition my hard drive and install it at home, i have the disc, i know it works cuz i installed it at school, but i cant figure out how to get the information off the disc its an iso file, how do i read it, what program should i use, at school my teacher already had the installation software started when i came into class.....any suggestions? i tried booting from the cd but it gave me an error message, i'll get back with what exactly the message said....

I'm unsure if I understand you correctly, but if you just have the ISO File, you'll have to burn it with a CD Burner like Nero or simply read this Information: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BurningIsoHowto
If you meant there is just a ISO File on the CD, you'll have to copy that File to your Harddrive and reburn it. This time with the "Write Image to Disc"-Function of your Burn Program. Or read the above mentioned Page here as well. ;)

That error message would really be helpfull.
