Problem with licensing

I want to develop my own programs in Ubuntu but I've problem with GNU GPL v.3 license. I'm thinking about that this license could break "Licensing politicies of Ubuntu components main and restricted". Can someone tell me am I right or no??

you can by all means make your own programs and release them under the GPL, and you or someone else can make a package that can be put onto the Ubuntu repositorys. However it will need to be tested and checked over by a MOTU(Master of the 'Universe'). Other than that im sure it could be put on the repos eventually.
