Which version of Ubuntu to install on Dell Latitude 820

I need to know which version of Ubuntu to download for my application. I have a Dell Latitude 820, built-in Dell wireless 1390. I am planning on installing Perl, MySQL, and Apache as a small test. I want all of my laptop features to work, but I also want the other packages just listed. Should I download the Desktop or Server version? Thx.

the Server version and the Desktop version have access to the same software but the server version is desnigned around someone who knows what they are doing and just wants to get their system up and running quickly to setup their server, it should be noted by default the server version does not have a gui enabled so if you are taking your first steps you should generally stick to the Desktop Version
