have you tried downloading the driver from canon's official sites?
most canon drivers can be found on their asia or european site.
type in google "canon asia" or "canon europe". if you don't find the driver there, you can try "canon australia" and "canon singapore"

Try this - after a little mucking around making sure I followed the instructions (not well set out) it worked for my old LBP 3000 -

Should mention that after you get it working on subsequent Ubuntu startups you might have to, in terminal, do -

sudo /etc/init/ccpd restart

This stops and restarts the linux print spooler (at one point I did have this happening automatically when Ubuntu started but I've forgotten how I did that - rc/local file or something like that)

i have successfully installed my printer CANON LBP 3300 on ubuntu 10.10 . I have followed the method 2 mentioned at :-

http://www.unixmen.com/linux-distributions/4-ubuntu/229-installation-canon-lbp2900-on-linux

The printer is working fine , but it is not picking the paper from main paper tray . As we are sending the print command , it is failed with the message Load Paper . i need to provide every single paper manually .
I need option to select paper source so that i can select paper from main tray . Also we would be thankful if these driver can be provided by default .
