I bought a Linux 6.10 Operation system. The system downloaded greatly, but my friend has no idea how to get it internet ready. He's used to the windows version. I bought this used, & the info form was missing. We would apperiate some help. Thanks for your time

 The system downloaded in my system perfectly, but we request advise on getting the system internet ready.
 Please help.
 The papers where missing when I bought the DVD used.
 I've heard Linux is better than Windows, I happen to be courious to try something different.

Ubuntu is free, you can download it, or even request a cd: http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download.

There are hundreds of different linux distributions, ubuntu is just one of them (the one of the best for sure ;)

The most recent version of ubuntu is 7.04, the 6.10 is still supported, so it's ok.

If you need some help with this, or the basic procedure doesn't work, feel free to ask, but please provide some details of what you've tried and what hardware do you have.

umm try ubuntuguide.org if your having problems but if you bought the cd then you got ripped off and getting internet is the same on linux as on windows
