Desktop effects cube isent working for me

Well, desktop effects works great and I'm on Xgl...

But when i click the cube check box, the desktop selector goes to one
desktop, not 4 put to one, how can i fix it?

The current version of Compiz in Feisty does not have a GUI to configure the details, so you have to delve into the configuration options manually.

You probably have four workspaces in Feisty, but Compiz needs four "viewports" so that the cube can get rotated.
The quick fix for Feisty is to

1. Start Applications/Accessories/Terminal
2. Run gconf-editor
3. Locate the key
/apps/compiz/general/screen0/options/hsize
4. Change the value from 1 to 4 (four viewports).

As soon as you make the change, the cube is ready for you to rotate ;-)

i just did that but i cant turn on my hole effects the screen just goes white for like 1 min and doesnt do anything
