Ubuntu won't start from Live CD

Asked by FascistOtaku on 2007-10-04

I burned the imge of Ubuntu onto a CD-R and configured my computer to boot from the DVDRW Drive first. My computer starts up and then starts to load from a DVDRW Drive, but then boots Windows XP instead. I am guessing that the problem is that I did not burn the image as bootable. I went to request a Live CD, but it said that it was unable to be shipped. It would be great if I could get some help. This is my first Linux experience and would like to eventually run only linux.

Make sure you have got the right image(not alternate one which is not bootable, right version i386 or amd64 or ppp).

Then go to here:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BurningIsoHowto

Just do as the instruction tells you to do.

Good luck.
