What is a good VM that will run Windows 98 decently?
This is not urgent, I can wait for some time before taking action if necessary, but eventually I would like to install Windows 98 on a Virtual Machine so I can run WordPerfect Office 9 (I've found Open Office to be a poor substitute, and WordPerfect Office 9 won't install correctly in Wine for some reason; and believe me, I've tried everything). As I said, this is not urgent, as I can use Open Office, as necessary, for the time being, but I do need WordPerfect for some of my projects, which require a great deal of finesse that Open Office has so far proven entirely incapable of providing (I also have a number of Quattro Pro and Presentations files that Open Office can't read). A dual boot is not an option, as there are projects that will be entirely dependent on having access to Linux and WordPerfect simultaneously, and I have no intention of using Windows for anything other than running WordPerfect (I intend to eliminate all networking functionality from Windows). A friend of mine, who is a huge Ubuntu supporter and helped me set my computer up in the first place, has said that he's had very limited success with Virtual Machines and running Windows in the past, so I'm hoping that someone might be able to help me work out a decent solution. I am a tech myself, and can do most of the intricate operations necessary, but I'm a little limited in terms of funding, to the point that I am presently unemployed, and my internet connection is dialup, so I'll need to know if any particular download will involve a large file, so I can arrange to gain access to my friend's high speed connection. Sorry for all of the details, but this is the crux of my problem, and I would like to resolve it as soon as possible.
