USB adaptor

I have just bought a laptop and a router. Unfortunately when connecting it, it would apear my modem has a USB connection that connects to the desktop. The router requires a DSL connection. Is there such a thing as an adaptor that I can plug the USB into making it a DSL?

Hi
There should be cord from the phoneline to the router. After that make sure that you actually connected to the router via wireless or network cable.

Hi, thanks for the reply. According to my instruction book the modem, that conects to the desktop, by USB is supposed to connect to the router but as it has a USB connection I can not. Is there an adaptor that will allow me to use the convert the USB connection into a DSL. Thanks

Is there a problem with understanding here? "The router requires a DSL connection. Is there such a thing as an adaptor that I can plug the USB into making it a DSL?" This means that the router will only work when there is a DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) already provided. DSL e.g. ADSL , Broadband.

If the method of connection is dialup, via an ordinary telephone line, then the router is not appropriate - there is no DSL .

"Is there an adaptor that will allow me to use the convert the USB connection into a DSL."No, you cannot make a USB connection into a DSL connection

Can you help with this problem?
