ata exception error

Asked by Srivatsa Kanchi R

I found the following ATA exception on my partitions when using eclipse. These have appeared recently. So I did a reformat of my home partition and swap partition. But again, when using eclipse, i see the below errors. Is this an indication of HDD problem on these partitions

I've just googled a bit but it seems your disk may be in a bad shape. I would test it with a smartmontools or something else and see if it's ok.

Hello, I'm new on launchpad. I write from Germany and use Kubuntu 7.10. I have the
same problems.
Absolutly no prolems with using PCLinuxOS Kernel 2.6.18 or Kubuntu Edgy 6.10 on
my system, but using Kubuntu Feisty Kernel 2.6.20 or Kubuntu Gutsy Kernel 2.6.22
show the problems above.
Trying to boot the Live-CD for installing the OS ends in the busybox after
showing this Sata-Problems. When I Plug off my Sata.Drives, there is no
positive effect on this problem-->Sata Controller!! I use an Asrock Board
ConRoe1333-D667. Kernel 18 works up from 20 the problems occured?!

Can you help with this problem?
