can't type, keyboard not working at startup ubuntu lucid

Asked by dumpa

At startup (not always 9 out of 10 more or less) I cannot write or click the mouse. The computer will freeze with the password manager open, and there is not much I can do. I can't open any application, or type in my password.
If I press crt-alt-f1 I can go to a terminal and sudo reboot, until I'm lucky enough to be able to use my computer.
I have logged using an Xorg and works, also on a previous version of ubuntu also installed on a partition and it works.

I haven't made recent changes to suspect there is a conflict with a recent installed package.

thanks

How does the mouse/keyboard connect to the system?

The mouse is wireless connected on a USB port.
The keyboard is the laptop's keyboard.

Ok you never said it was a laptop, can you give the make and model.

If you can give as much information right off the bat it makes resolution a LOT faster.
