Hi :)

There are at least 2 issues here.

Firstly it doesn't matte how often you order free Cds from Shipit. They are slow delivery so it might be better to order a pack of 5 Cds from the Cannonical shop (just before you reach Shipit on the ubuntu website)
http://shop.canonical.com/index.php?cPath=17
just so that you get them sooner. Shipit's purpose is to help get Ubuntu out to places that Ubuntu would not be able to reach otherwise. Most people will order a new one every 6 months or so.

If you did order one ages ago it still might not have been processed yet as there was huge demand during December. Even if it has been dispatched it will be ages before your receive it. Despite the optimistism of the website it typically it takes 6-8 weeks to arrive.

If you really didn't order any Cds before then could someone have done so for you? Did someone setup your account for you? Please check the address the order has been sent to using your previous orders page, that might help work out if someone else did something like this (probably to help you)
https://shipit.ubuntu.com/specialrequest
I don't think you can see the addresses of previous requests but that page might help? Your personal profile page
https://launchpad.net/~abhishekchak52
says you just created this account today but perhaps someone had your account name before? Is your name particularly unique? This seems very unlikely but it's theoretically possible i suppose. I think Launchpad are careful not to let things like this happen but soemthing odd clearly has happened.

Please let us know but take care because this thread is in a public access forum
Good luck and regards from
Tom :)

Thanks Tom,
Well i live in a officers quarters so it might be possible that someone who lived here before me requested a cd (purely for his/her own benifit and not mine) Should i try to request a cd to my permanent residence(which has belongs to my family since 20+ years?
And yes, I am perfectly sure that i have NOT requested a cd of ubuntu (the main reason being that i came to know of it only in december 2010)

Hi :)

I doubt that anyone is objecting to you ordering an Ubuntu Cd? Surely they are just informing you? If the normal Shipit request is causing problems then try their special request system so that you can state your case, briefly, ie that one seems to have been ordered by someone else to your address in the past but now you have moved in and want a new one. I can't believe that their standard form is making a fuss about this. How do students in shared flats cope? Perhaps ask for a couple more Cds for the bar at the Officer's Mess or to hand out to other people living nearby? Err, this is a public forum so it is probably best not to give too many details along those lines.

Good luck and regards from
Tom :)
