No sound in fiesty x64

sound card not detected. I have all the plugins installed.

have you tried the latest live cd from http://www.ubuntu.com/testing ? maybe the audio chip is supported there and it could be backported or you wait the 4 weeks to the final release or just start with the beta version anyway ;-) in that case you should probably take the latest daily from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/cdimage/daily/current/

Let us know if you get stuck somewhere or don't understand what to do exactly.

Gutsy has alsa 1.0.14 (should be enough), with this instructions you can even have alsa 1.0.15. But installing gutsy (or upgrading to it) is simpler then compiling those drivers yourself.
