Using different fonts in Ubuntu

Asked by Ron

Dear all,

I wonder if someone can help me install fonts in Ubuntu. I know I can find different packages from the Software Center and then install them directly. But then how can I use them in different applications? Do they automatically show up in my OOo word processor, Kword, or Tomboy Notes?

Also, if I can't find the right fonts in the Software Center, is there anyway to install something from a website directly?

Thanks much in advance,

Ron

yes. they will show up automatically after they're installed.
best to install them from the software center. what you find on the internet and download directly might be corrupt or virus ridden.
