yo utilizo ubuntu 8.4

He intentado de todo para configurar los parlantes 5.1 pero no he podido arreglar el problema

Mi tarjeta de sonido es Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio Controller (rev 01)

De antemano muchas gracias por cualquier ayuda

Hola Minor, primero te cuento que para probar si andan los 5.1 deberías usar algún archivo multimedia que tenga 5.1. Básicamente, no pruebes con mp3 porque no son 5.1 y para que funcionen como 5.1 hay que tocar algunas opciones, pero eso lo harás luego que sepas que el 5.1 está soportado por ubuntu.

Una vez que tengas algún DVD o película 5.1 funcionando, podés probar con "alsamixer".
