First question: do you have access to this HDD? I guess so as you are asking about permissions. Tell me if it's not the case.

So now it all depends if it's a linux or a windows partition.

If it's a windows NTFS partition, you will need to activate the "write" setting. There is a software to do that: ntfs-config.
If it's a linux partition, you just have to set the rights to do it. You can right click the directory and check for the permissions. If you don't have the rights to modify them, you will have to run the file browser as an administrator to modify them.

If you don't know how to do all this, tell us, we will give you more details.

thanx for your fast comment

i indeed have access to my hdd and it is a ntfs partition
so how does this ntfs-config works?

and how to run the file browser as an administrator?

Dont directly downlaod it from the internet, just use the ubuntu add / remove menu

there search for "ntfs"
install the NTFS configuration tool.

Then activate NTFS write support.

Then you should be set

Ive downloaded the ntfs-3g directly form iternet before and that didnt work, while with the add / remove progmras menu from Ubuntu it did work, so maybe you could try it via the menu
