I downloaded Jap now how do you install in Ubuntu

Hi .. as you can be certain I am new to the Ubuntu world or linux world..I want to be able to use the program Jap to surf the internet anonymous. I downloaded the file and thought it would open and install when I downloaded it but I can't for the life of me find any instructions on the internet as how to install it into Ubuntu and need someone to walk me through it. I have the file on my desktop and it is a trz file. If someone has a place that has a different format to download this and it will install automatically when I download it I would really appreciate you letting me know.Thanks in advance. I used to be a win xp user and had annonomyzer and it worked really well. I have been told that jap is the equal in every way to this program.

Hello !

The usual way to install something in Ubuntu is to use System > Administration > Synaptic Package Manager ... There you can search trough all the package available. Maybe Jap isn't there, but it's worth trying the easy way before anything else.

Can you check if Jap is there ?

Benoit... YOU are a genius!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been updating and downloading apps and forgot about the main one to download from .I went there and somehow stumbled through what you told me to do and figured it out and bingo..Its up and running and fabulous.Thank you so much for taking the time.I love Ubuntu and all the apps that are available. I am finding more and more that i need windows less and and less .Actually I am pretty sure I can dump it all together.Ubuntu and people like you have me convinced..Thanks again.. Michael
