im very new to ubuntu and i want to get beryl and need step by step help!

im very new to ubuntu and i want to show my friend that it is better then windows or mac. But all they see is eye candy. So i want to install beryl, but i need step by step help. i need to know what package i should downloed and what to in the termial window? i have ubuntu 6.06.
